Hope in Allah (CCUB Reflection)

 

    I was assigned by my Naqibah to watch a talk by Yasmin Mogahed entitled Hope in God (Allah).

Right now in my post here, I would like to add some more of my thoughts that I could not make it in my reflection video.

In Yasmin Mogahed's video. she touched about why do we feel like giving up from  striving to become a better Muslim.

I still remember of my lecturer in my Foundation telling me about something that called 'dhamir'. The 'dhamir' is located inside us. If I'm not mistaken, to be specific, it is situated in our heart. My lecturer told that, the 'dhamir' is like a mirror that reflects ourselves.

Then he asked, what happen to our 'dhamir', every time we committed a sin?

For every each sin that we done, black spots will cover it.

And that is the reason why do we feel lost whenever we committed sins.

Because we can't 'see' us anymore.

Therefore, to be able for us to see us again, we must not give up in tawbah, seeking forgiveness from Allah SWT. Also, always strive and istiqamah in improvising ourselves to become a better person. 

InsyaAllah, slowly, the black spots on our 'dhomir' will fade, and we will able to see us again.
